On the evening of Tuesday 5th February 2019, Catherine McGuinness, Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee, City of London Corporation and The Right Honourable, The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Deirdre Hargey will host an exclusive reception to showcase Belfast’s success in leading transformation in Financial & Professional Services.

The venue is the historic Crypts at the Guildhall, the largest medieval crypts in London.

This special evening follows the recent announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer approving funding for The Belfast Region City Deal, a deal that will deliver more than 20,000 new jobs through a 10-year investment strategy, reinforcing Belfast’s position as one of the leading UK Financial Services Centres.

The city’s transformation from ship building mecca to Financial Services Centre is well-known. The innovation, entrepreneurship and agility that enabled this transformation are now at the forefront of a Financial Technology revolution – Belfast leads the way in Fintech, Cybersecurity and Blockchain.

In Belfast, anchor investors including Citi, CME, Tulles Prebon ICAP, Herbert Smith Freehills, Allen & Overy and Allstate co-exist with clusters of fast-growth tech start-ups,  entrepreneurial SMEs and eminent centres of excellence including the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT).

This collaborative environment fuels knowledge sharing, the development of niche skills and provides a natural route to market for new technologies, powering future growth.

Join us to hear how Belfast is leading the future in Financial & Professional Services.

The evening will commence with a champagne reception, followed by our keynote address and then networking drinks, canapes & bowl-food.
